Two elongated nude figures intertwine in an intimate embrace, their bodies merging into a single fluid, sculptural form. The smooth ivory-toned finish and dramatically simplified figures give the piece a distinctly modernist quality, while the substantial marble pedestal creates a beautiful contrast and architectural presence.

Designed by Peggy Mach and produced by Alva Museum Reproductions in 1971, the sculpture is signed/marked near the base and mounted on a solid marble plinth. Other examples of “Embracing Nudes” have appeared through established auction houses and vintage design dealers.
