A flat beige portable with a square, almost blocky body and white keys. The plate reads "Made in Italy under licence of Mercedes Office Machines-Werke GmbH" — Mercedes was a German typewriter maker, and by the 1970s machines carrying the name were being produced under licence in Italy.
The look is pure 1970s office: no chrome, no curves, just a plain rectangular shell and a four-row QWERTZ keyboard. It sits well in brutalist and utilitarian interiors, where the flat planes and the beige-and-black contrast do the work.
The machine types and is in very good condition overall. There is a small crack in the plastic housing, shown in the photos, and light wear consistent with age.
