These are original period botanical plates rather than modern reproduction prints and retain their original printed botanical titles and credits to renowned Belgian botanical artist and lithographer P. De Pannemaecker.

The collection comprises Amaraboya Splendida J. Lind., Amaraboya Princeps J. Lind., Amaraboya Amabilis Lind., and Begonia Cinnabarina (Hybrida) var. Albo-Vittata. The remarkably saturated crimson, raspberry, rose and green coloration makes this an especially decorative group, while the fine botanical detail reflects the sophisticated chromolithographic printing for which L’Illustration Horticole became known. Period publication records document these Amaraboya subjects within L’Illustration Horticole, including Amaraboya Amabilis as Plate IX.

Each antique chromolithograph has been professionally framed by Robert Grace of Hollister, California, with coordinating gilt frames and beautifully executed layered matting. The four work especially well displayed together as a botanical gallery wall and would complement traditional, Victorian, grandmillennial, English country or collected interiors.

Each framed chromolithograph measures approximately 22.5”H × 19”W × 1.25”D. Sold as a set of four. See less
