A set of two Utrecht armchairs by one of the founders of the 1920s “De Stijl” movement, Gerrit Rietveld.
This sculptural armchair was originally designed in 1935 for the Metz & Co department store in Amsterdam, but with the purchase by Cassina of the production rights they have been re-introduced to the market since the late 1980s.
Our pair of Utrecht chairs (named after the birth place of Rietveld) have their original white leather upholstery, and are in excellent condition.
This color is no longer in production.
I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
designer records,
or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising
from
misattribution
