An amber body rises 36 cm from a base tinted faintly green, the wall thick enough that the colour deepens through the mass rather than sitting on it. The top is folded and flared out by hand while hot, so the rim falls in an irregular handkerchief shape — no two folds are alike, and the form is settled in the seconds before the glass sets.

The Egermann works at Nový Bor were founded by Friedrich Egermann (1777-1864), who developed the coloured stains and flashed finishes that made Bohemian glass famous across Europe. The company still operates. This vase is factory production of the 1980s, signed with the works' own mark.

Signed "Egermann" in the glass on the base, and the original factory label is still in place. This piece has an attribution mark,
