Three tapering blades rise from a solid clear cube — two in amber, one colourless — each drawn by hand from a hot gather, pulled to a fine point and bent while still soft. Because the drawing is done freehand at the bench, no two pieces of this kind take the same curve.

The amber is gathered into the clear at the foot, so the colour sits heaviest in the mass and thins as it climbs. The cube does the rest of the work: solid and polished on every face, it behaves as a lens, catching the amber above and returning it as a floating oval when the piece is seen from the side.

Unsigned, as most Venetian sculptural glass of the period was. Sold as Murano glass without attribution to a specific furnace. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
