Wonderful vintage lounge chair by charles & ray eames from one of the first generations, labeled with both herman miller and vitra.
the armrests have since been replaced with ones from the same production run (miller made by vitra) and now show only minimal signs of wear [no longer any noticeable marks on the armrests]—photos to follow.
in a set with the ottoman—and thus virtually unbeatable in terms of comfort—this design classic was created in 1956 at the request of billy wilder, who wanted a lounge chair that was both cozy and elegant yet modern.
- the chair swivels beautifully and is incredibly comfortable.
- both the ottoman and the chair are labeled (see photos)
- the wood is in very good condition; minor chips have been professionally repaired—it was described to me as santos rosewood. The invoice/documentation is available.
- the leather is still in great condition:
-> the ottoman has a very dark brown cushion with some superficial signs of wear (it has been photographed and, as you can see in the pictures, blends beautifully with the leather of the armchair)
-> the armchair has a few signs of wear on the seat around the buttons

- ottoman dimensions: h 42 x w 63 x d 56 cm
this piece has an attribution mark,
