This is a set of 5 William Rae Tor Road Japanese Satsuma hand-painted porcelain plates featuring floral designs and gilt accents.
William Rae was a brand sold out of the Kobe region, which was a region full of souvenir trade items. They were most popular during the 1930s. Almost all pattern names were unfortunately lost during the war (much like Noritake). Its pattern with a gold-like encrusted trim. It is a discontinued brand so pieces are becoming much more rare.
These would be stunning additions to the wall. I’ve tried to capture the light so that you can see how lovely the gilt accents are. Photos truly don’t do these justice!
