"HOPE" is a collectible masterpiece: a two-drawer dovetail box sculpted entirely by hand from raw maple, walnut, cherry, and purpleheart.
All wood is recycled from big cabinetmaking companies' offcuts.
Every surface was refined using only hand planes and saws; every joint, from half-blind dovetails to precision mortise and tenons, was struck by chisel, hand saw, and mallet.
This 50-hour labor of devotion, finished in organic orange oil and beeswax, serves as a manifesto for the return of "true handmade" in high-end cabinetmaking.
Featured in Furniture & Cabinetmaking (Issue 325) and honored as Commended Maker of 2025 by Wood Review, it is a rare, award-winning intersection of heritage craft and contemporary artistry.
