Pair of Louis XV period armchairs in carved natural wood, exhibiting all the formal characteristics of the style: cabriole legs, gendarme-hat style back, curved seat rail, and scrolled console armrests.
The upholstery is in burgundy velvet, secured with patinated brass upholstery tacks. The back of each seat is protected by a neutral canvas cover. The woodwork shows significant old restorations, particularly visible on the arms and seat rail, with residual traces of former polychromy or gilding that has partially disappeared. Restoration work will be necessary for a complete restoration.
According to the seller, both chairs are perfectly stable. Seat height: 40 cm. Dimensions: H. 91 cm × W. 60 cm, estimated weight per chair: 10 kg.
