Oil on canvas, glued to masonite, artwork depicting a portrait of a woman with a letter, of good quality. This small painting is adorned with a beautiful lacquered and gilded wooden frame (bronze tint). The artwork bears a signature and date (see photo) Mayo 79 at the bottom, attributed to the Greek-born French painter Antoine Malliarakis (1905-1990). Additional documentation is missing. The painting depicts a thoughtful woman, wearing a distinctive, colorful costume, intent on reading a letter. The painting is in good condition with some small signs of aging.
