The clear glass baluster body displays masterful hand-painted execution, showcasing dense, scrolling Persian paisley and foliate motifs framed by meticulously hatched gilding and filled with fine, vibrant translucent enamels. The lower section retains Heckert’s signature Jodhpur design language: a stylized cobalt blue band accented by a silver-gilt floral vine and a delicate row of enameled dots. The magnificent glass vessel is seamlessly paired with opulent, high-quality European gilt-bronze (ormolu) fittings, including a finely cast foliate cap and a pierced, scrolling rococo-style base. Heckert produced arguably the finest enameling work of any late 19th-century European workshop. Possibly unsigned as is typical for glass intended for high-end bronze mounting, this piece is fully authenticated by its distinctive pattern cataloging.
