Each figure … Read more Beautiful matched pair of hand-carved wooden Namji fertility dolls from the Namji/Dowayo people of northern Cameroon, West Africa. Each figure is fully wrapped in fine glass seed beads and adorned with genuine cowrie shells — an elaborate cowrie headdress, cascading chest rosette, waist belt, and shell-trimmed arm cuffs. Carved wood faces, hands, and paddle-shaped feet are left exposed in a rich dark patina, contrasting beautifully with the intricate beadwork.

One doll is dressed in cream/natural beads with a full cowrie crown; the taller of the pair, standing approximately 24-25 inches. Its partner wears deep navy blue beading with a domed cowrie headpiece, standing approximately 22-23 inches — together forming a traditional companion pair.

Each piece is entirely handmade, and shows genuine craftsmanship, dense beadwork, and well-preserved cowrie shell detailing.

A striking statement piece for a console table, bookshelf, or gallery display — sold as a pair.
