I acquired this piece from a friend who received it from Miss Fife herself before her untimely accidental death in … Read more I acquired this piece from a friend who received it from Miss Fife herself before her untimely accidental death in 2011 I do not collect dark but I do not want to see this piece sit around I think it should be out there keeping her beautiful Legacy alive Laurel Fyfe was the founder of Fox Fire Glass in Pontiac, Michigan. Sadly, she passed away in 2011 in an auto accident. She was highly respected in the glass community as an educator and artist. During her career she completed a number of large commission works including the sand carved glass panels at the entrance of the rotunda of the McNamara terminal at the Detroit airport, the sand carved glass vaults at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament, Detroit, Michigan and the rotating glass globe with sand carved landforms at the G-Tech corporate headquarters, Providence R.I.
