This darling and subtle oil painting portrait of a young woman by French artist Michel Thompson (1921-2007) is uniquely captivating, providing a slight mystery with her slight smirk and child-like composition. Subject is painted straight on, directly facing the viewer. Canvas is raw and unbleached, with several markings on back presumably by artist, as well as the words "White Siren" written in cursive on a stretcher. Artwork is ensconced in a linen matting with gold leaf frame.
