Exceptional vintage American Space Age lounge chair dating to approximately the early 1970s. Constructed as a one-piece molded fiberglass shell, the chair features a striking sculptural profile with fluid organic curves that embody the futuristic design aesthetic of the era.
While the designer has not yet been definitively identified, the chair reflects the same modernist vocabulary seen in iconic Space Age works by designers such as Eero Aarnio, Luigi Colani, and other innovators working with molded fiberglass during the late 1960s and early 1970s. It is being offered as an unattributed American design, believed to have been manufactured in the United States.
