Handcrafted in 1998, this … Read more An exceptional, monumental early centerpiece bowl from the acclaimed Northwest glass artists Dan and Joi LaChaussee. Handcrafted in 1998, this substantial studio art glass piece highlights the couple’s mastery of scale, movement, and color.Measuring an impressive 24 inches in diameter and standing 11 inches tall(on the stand), the bowl features a stunning spiral optic drape pattern transitioning beautifully from a light lavender and translucent center out to a rich, deep amethyst purple. The dramatic, organic form is framed by a signature ruffled handkerchief lip, expertly finished with a vibrant teal / aqua contrast glass border.This earlier work was completed just prior to the construction of their modern Whidbey Island studio in 1999, making it a wonderful find for collectors of American studio glass craft. The polished pontil on the base is cleanly hand-engraved with the authentic "LaChaussee 1998" studio signature. The piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, fleabites, or scuffs on the foot. See less
