About the Manufacturer

Founded in Kleinheubach, Bavaria, Scheurich Keramik became one of Europe's largest ceramic manufacturers during the postwar decades. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, the company gained international recognition for its innovative glazes and bold modern forms, becoming one of the defining names of the West German Pottery movement. Design

The tall cylindrical body tapers gently towards the base, providing an elegant canvas for the richly textured Fat Lava glaze. An intense orange-red ground is overlaid with deep cobalt-blue relief, creating an organic pattern that evokes cooled volcanic rock, mineral formations, or reptilian skin. The dramatic contrast between the vivid colours and the heavily textured surface gives the vase a powerful visual presence, while the restrained form prevents the decoration from becoming overwhelming.
