Elegant vintage settee by Baker Furniture, featuring a French Provincial design with Louis XV influence.
Measuring just 58 inches wide, this beautifully proportioned piece features an exposed carved wood frame with graceful serpentine lines, floral and foliate carvings, cabriole legs and classic nailhead trim. The carved detailing continues along the crest rail, apron and arms, giving the settee an especially decorative profile from every angle.
The original champagne-toned upholstery has a subtle sheen and complements the warm wood finish. Two generously sized seat cushions and two loose back cushions provide comfortable seating without the scale of a traditional sofa.
The original Baker Furniture label remains attached beneath the cushions.
The carved wood frame presents beautifully with age-appropriate wear. The original upholstery shows visible wear, pulls, spotting and discoloration consistent with age and use. While usable as-is, this would be an exceptional candidate for reupholstery and could easily be transformed with a fresh linen, velvet or patterned textile.
Its smaller scale makes it particularly well suited for a sitting room, bedroom, entry, library or apartment.
