Cane seat appears to be original with no damaged/broken areas. Paint detail is original and very high quality. The chair shows wear and age but is in great condition for a 200 year old antique. Leg joints into the seat appear to have been re-glued at some point in the past 50 years. The chair is very stable and the legs appear to be original length. The chair is not signed and no makers mark or sign is visible. See less

The piece appears to be all original, including the cane seat. There is wear typical from use and age. Legs are of equal length and the chair is stable; the leg connection into the seat appears to have been re-glued, although this possible repair is not recent and is not in a visible area. less
