The wheel-thrown form combines cylindrical and conical sections with clearly defined horizontal transitions. Its surface varies between ivory, beige, ochre, bronze-brown and graphite, with darker tones around the edges and recessed areas.

Schlotz confirmed that this is the only porcelain vessel of this type he produced using salt firing. The work is documented in his archive under number 1804 (created in December 2005) and was formerly part of a private collection in Freiburg.

Martin Schlotz, born in 1959, studied ceramics under Professor Volker Ellwanger in Mainz. His works have been exhibited internationally and are held in collections including Die Neue Sammlung at the Pinakothek der Moderne and the GRASSI Museum Leipzig. This piece has an attribution mark,
