Make a commanding statement with this large vintage Chinese porcelain temple jar and lid, standing 17 inches high. Hand-painted in the vibrant Wucai (five-color) palette, the jar features an intricate narrative scene depicting Daoist immortals, scholars, and celestial maidens amidst swirling auspicious clouds, pine trees, and stylized waves.
The shoulder and domed cover are detailed with intricate geometric borders and classic dragon motifs, anchored by a traditional striped base. A decorative six-character Kangxi mark adorns the base, referencing the classic Qing Dynasty aesthetic that inspired this mid-20th-century export piece.
