The three-dimensional figure wears a dramatically striped nemes-style headdress with a royal uraeus-inspired forehead ornament and traditional ceremonial beard. The broad collar and surrounding decoration feature extensive Egyptian-inspired motifs and hieroglyphic-style detailing.

The sculpture is especially impressive from the back, where the striped headdress continues around the form and the reverse is extensively decorated with raised/incised Egyptian-inspired symbols. The piece is therefore fully finished as a freestanding sculptural object rather than simply a frontal wall decoration.

The pharaoh figure is mounted on a gold-tone metal support rod and removable from its approximately 6” x 6” black wood display base. The removable construction allows the sculptural top to be displayed separately from the stand.

The piece is unsigned and no maker’s mark is visible on the sculpture or wood base. The exact material and country of manufacture are unknown.

A bold statement piece for an Egyptian Revival, Hollywood Regency, eclectic, maximalist, or globally inspired interior. Particularly striking on a console, bookshelf, mantel, credenza, or entry table.
