The Wassily Chair became a prime example of modern living and remains an icon of modernism to this day.

Breuer, then head of the furniture workshop at the Bauhaus in Dessau, immigrated to the USA in 1933 due to his Jewish heritage. There, he co-founded the architecture department at Harvard University with Walter Gropius and rose to become one of the most renowned architects of his generation.

Frame made of chrome-plated tubular steel and upholstered in brown full-grain leather. Knoll adhesive on the underside. Very good condition with moderate signs of wear. This piece has an attribution mark,
