Large 19” Vintage Blanc de Chine Porcelain Bodhidharma Damo Statue
An impressive and rare 19-inch vintage "Blanc de Chine" (Dehua) white porcelain statue depicting Bodhidharma (Damo), the patriarch of Zen Buddhism.The figure is expertly modeled on a grand scale, showcasing exceptional detail in Damo's intense facial features, tightly curled beard, and dramatic, heavy monastic robes that elegantly fluidize over a base of stylized crashing waves. The reverse features two traditional impressed marks—a top double-gourd "Dehua" stamp and a lower square artist seal mark. Coated in a high-gloss, premium ivory-white glaze with beautiful translucent qualities. A highly collectible, commanding focal piece perfect for a mantle, entry console, or high-end Asian art collection.
Dimensions: 19 X 7 X 7
Excellent vintage condition with no visible chips, cracks, or restorations. Fine glaze and pristine finish. Minimal expected shelf wear on the unglazed bottom rim of the base.
