Pan Yun, or yun-de, is the traditional Burmese lacquerware technique in which layers of black thitsi lacquer are built up over a wood or woven bamboo frame, then hand-incised and colored, typically in red, gold and green. The octagonal top sits on a folding base with pierced and turned supports, a form made in the late 19th and early 20th centuries for the Anglo-Burmese and export market. Works beautifully as a side table, tea table or plant stand. Measures 20" x 20" top x 18" high. See less
