A beautifully expressive carved wood sculpture by renowned Haitian artist Roger François (1928–2013), circa 1970.
The figure has a wonderful sense of quiet elegance—elongated and poised, with one arm raised effortlessly overhead and the other resting at her side. François transforms an everyday moment into something almost monumental, celebrating the grace, strength, and rhythm of Haitian life through a distinctly modern sculptural language.
