Sourced in the United States and acquired in the 1950s, this pair has had only two owners. The chairs were later reupholstered, believed in the 1980s, in a rich brown velvet finished with hand-applied brass nailhead trim tracing the back, seat, and arms — the subtle shading visible in photos is simply the velvet's natural pile/nap catching the light from brushing, not staining or wear. The rich, dark oak frame shows a lovely aged patina, and the sturdy box-stretcher base keeps the pair structurally solid.

These would make a striking statement flanking a fireplace, anchoring a reading nook, or paired at the head and foot of a dining table. Sold as a pair.

Condition: Pristine condition overall.
