A series of actual wooden-handled paintbrushes are mounted across a sleek wood panel, each brush dipped in a different saturated color—from red and green to blue, pink and deep purple. The dimensional brushes against the smooth, high-gloss lacquered surface give the work a fantastic graphic quality and lots of depth.

Andy Anh Ha arrived on the Los Angeles art scene in 2005 with his own take on modern expressionism. He became particularly known for using high-gloss finishes on wood-panel boxes, creating bold contemporary works that received international media attention. His work has been exhibited in galleries and shows throughout the country and has attracted a Hollywood following, including actress Jessica Alba and Entourage creator Doug Ellin.
