Sculptural and drenched in color, this ceramic garden seat reinvents the barrel shape of classic Chinese drum stools. Slip casted in low relief, the stool has six sides, each decorated with a pierced design of vases, flowers and butterflies. A homonym for "peace," this motif of a vase with flowers conveys a blessing for peace and serenity.
The drum stool is loosely glazed in the style of sancai ware, splashed with shades of creme-white, brown and teal against a luminous blue-green drip glaze. Suitable for outdoor use, the glazed drum brightens its surroundings as an easy side table, patio table or garden stool.
