 painted in oil on canvas during the first decades of the 20th century.

The composition depicts an imposing snow-covered mountain range, illuminated by the warm sunlight, creating an intense colour contrast

between the pink and golden tones of the rocks and the blues and greys of the snow-covered areas.

In the foreground, dense vegetation of fir trees and conifers frames the landscape. The vigorous, richly textured brushwork, particularly evident

in the rendering of the rocks, snow and vegetation, gives the scene remarkable expressive strength and atmospheric depth.

The work is an oil painting presented in an original lacquered wooden frame, contemporary with the antique painting.

The painting is unsigned but could be attributed to Étienne Albrieux (1891-1962), a French painter, particularly known for his production

devoted to Alpine landscapes.

The frame and painting have been carefully and professionally restored.
