This is a beautiful vintage Chinese Huali (Rosewood) box, featuring a classic slide-lid design and impeccable traditional craftsmanship (evident in the fine dovetail joints on the sides).
The top of the lid is decorated with an elegant Mother-of-Pearl (MOP) inlay motif (due to the nature of vintage pieces, the inlay pattern varies, adding to its unique charm). The iridescent shell contrasts beautifully against the dark, rich grain of the wood.
The wood boasts a deep, dark reddish-brown color with a highly polished, aged patina that feels smooth to the touch.
