Each … Read more Beautiful set of three handcrafted graduated size studio pottery plates featuring expressive abstract glazing in earthy and coastal tones. Each plate combines a warm unglazed terracotta rim with flowing fields of cream, ochre, rust brown, deep charcoal and blue-green glaze.

The dramatic reactive glaze creates wonderfully organic transitions and textures, giving each plate its own variation while maintaining a cohesive design. The composition has a distinctly modernist quality reminiscent of an abstract landscape—sand, earth, water and sky.

The largest plate is hand-signed/incised by the artist on the underside, with additional hand markings visible. The two smaller plates also show individual markings on their bases. Artist has not been conclusively identified.

An attractive example of American-style studio pottery, equally suitable for use as serving/display plates or grouped as decorative tabletop or wall décor. See less
