The Poliedri are modular blown glass elements produced in Murano, originally conceived as the building blocks of the large Venini chandelier designed by Ignazio Gardella, Paolo Venini and Enrico Peresutti for the 1958 Brussels World's Fair, where they were displayed in the central hall of the Italian Pavilion. The same modular unit was later used for the celebrated cascade chandelier created by Venini with Carlo Scarpa for the Turin ""Italia '61"" Expo, marking one of the most significant chapters in twentieth-century Italian design history.
