The backrest is constructed with an elegantly carved upper rail, carved splatback and lower rail, that is connected by the curved side rails. The backrest is adorned with six wonderful sunburst brass designs, a truly excellent period feature.

The side rails lead down to form two square splayed backlegs.

Both the chair seats have been reupholstered with a floral chenille cream stuffed seat, that provides comfortable seating. The upholstered seating are both held in place with a dowel to the front.

This English pair of chairs adds a timeless and wonderful character, that could be used in the dining room, living room or kitchen setting.

Overall this antique pair of Chairs are in great condition, showing minor signs of use and veneer wear as to be expected from years of age (see photographs).

There is a gap to one of the leg joints, but this has no structural effect.

There are historical markings to the upholstered seating (see photographs).

There are signs of historical woodworm to one of the chairs backrail and side rail, and one of the chairs front leg, but these have been fully treated by the previous owner (see photographs).
