Attributed to Campania International and from the mid 1990s as that’s where and when a small town in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley purchased 30 of them for a town beautification project. They’re still in use today.

Unfortunately, these highly stylized urns are usually described as antique or French, especially when they display expected wear and patina, which likely hikes up the prices. They are neither.

Haddo House Urns (AKA Aberdeen Urns) are still manufactured in cast stone by another company in license with the National Trust of Scotland. These cast iron versions, however, are like unicorns.

One of these urns was retrieved from a renowned garden center in one of New Jersey’s most affluent towns. They’ve been around since the 1980s and acquired this urn as new stock. It’s been sitting in their warehouse for nearly 30 years virtually untouched by time. And it’s their last one.

The other urn is a reconditioned and repainted survivor. The biggest tell between them is the pitting and slight rust inside the urn that actually held dirt.

Approximately 30” tall by 22” at the rims and a very heavy 100 lbs each. See less
