A pair of large handcrafted Italian terracotta planters featuring a rolled rim, stepped base, and a repeated decorative frieze of swags, festoons, and rosettes. Each sold separately.
These grand planters are inspired by traditional Tuscan terracotta ware crafted in regions like Impruneta, Italy, where master potters have shaped local clay since the Renaissance. Originally designed for grand European estates and formal gardens to house citrus trees and sculptural shrubs, authentic Italian terracotta is prized today for its exceptional frost-resistant durability and rich porous patina. Makers like Seibert-Rice and various Impruneta workshops continue to produce these classic architectural garden ornaments.
