Vibrant in its sunny yellow, this Veneta Lumi desk lamp embodies the essence of 1970s Italian design's penchant for color, bold shapes, and contrasting materials.
Its yellow and black lacquered metal frame is built around a long, flexible chrome arm, allowing for free adjustment of the reflector. The wide, domed shade, circular base, and black accents create a graphic silhouette, somewhere between Space Age aesthetics and pop industrial design.
The lamp bears several marks of its history, including some chips and paint loss around the shade, base, and stem, visible in the photographs. This deliberate wear and tear only adds to its charm.
