Its warm coloring and visible wood characteristics are consistent with maple, although no surviving manufacturer’s documentation confirms the precise wood species used throughout. The original maple-colored woodgrain laminate top has been intentionally retained, providing a durable, easy-care surface well suited to everyday bedside use. It offers greater resistance to moisture, beverage rings and routine wear than many refinished wood tops while preserving the authentic materials and practical character of the original piece. The substantial wood cabinet and solid-wood drawer boxes remain intact and present well. The body and drawer fronts have been refreshed in a hand-applied Old Chapel Sagewood™ satin finish. Softly rubbed antique-gold gilding accents the raised drawer moldings, the narrow reveal beneath the top and the upper edge of the plinth base. Tonal variation, subtle brush movement and irregularities within the rubbed gilding are intentional features of the artisan finish and should not be interpreted as damage. The original maple-colored woodgrain laminate top has been intentionally retained for its durability and vintage character. It may display light scratches, small marks, surface variation and other minor evidence of previous use consistent with its age. The original Chippendale-style bail pulls have been cleaned and refreshed in an aged-brass finish. A faint factory production stencil remains visible on the back; however, no identifiable manufacturer’s label has been located. As with all vintage furniture, minor variations, impressions and signs of earlier use may remain. Significant damage is not apparent in the provided photographs. Drawer operation and overall stability will be inspected again before shipment. less
