An extra-large antique semi-vitreous china oval serving platter in the classic Empress shape by Homer Laughlin China Co. The backstamp features the historic factory date code 6 9 N 5, dating production to June 1919 (or 1929) at Newell, West Virginia Plant 5.
It is styled with a crisp, tailored geometric rim motif of repeating black diamonds and linear accents banded with warm gold trim against a rich ivory ground. Weighing substantially and measuring an impressive 17.5 inches long, this piece is ideally suited for grand tabletop service or displayed upright in a china cabinet, breakfront, or styled open shelving.
