The deep navy field is covered with an elaborate repeating arrangement of floral sprays, stylized blossoms, palmettes, rosettes, flowering stems, boteh-like motifs, leaves, and geometric botanical forms. Small-scale decorative elements fill the spaces between the larger motifs, producing the dense visual character associated with traditional Persian village rugs.

A particularly attractive feature is the series of surrounding borders. The broad ivory border contains colorful individual floral forms framed by a scrolling red vine, while additional narrow borders incorporate smaller flowers and geometric ornamentation.

Rich navy, indigo, brick red, coral, rust, ivory, cream, camel, ochre, yellow, lavender, muted purple, dusty rose, olive, brown, and gray create a sophisticated antique palette. Subtle variations in tone and weave add depth and emphasize the rug's handmade nature. See less
