This highly decorative three-light candelabrum features an elaborate pastoral figural scene at its base, with finely rendered figures and animals gathered beneath a detailed tree. From the central composition rises an ornate framework of scrolling foliate arms terminating in three candle sockets surrounded by beautifully detailed grapevine, leaf, and fruit motifs.

The brass construction displays remarkable detail throughout, from the textured bark and foliage of the central tree to the clothing, facial features, animals, architectural scrollwork, and dimensional grape clusters surrounding each candle cup. The symmetrical scrolling arms give the piece an especially dramatic silhouette.

The entire brass composition is mounted to a rectangular white marble base, providing both visual contrast and substantial weight and stability.

A striking example of Victorian decorative metalwork that works equally well as a functional candleholder or as a sculptural statement piece. Its large scale, intricate casting and unusual figural composition make it particularly impressive displayed on a mantel, console, sideboard or library table.

Originally designed with hanging glass prisms; the original prisms are no longer present. The small suspension loops remain beneath the grape-form ornament. See less
