The vase has … Read more Striking large antique American art pottery vase featuring an unusual flowing flambé-style glaze and impressive 19-inch scale.

The vase has a tall, elegant form with a narrow cylindrical lower body expanding dramatically into broad rounded shoulders, finished with a short neck and thick rolled rim. The glaze is particularly attractive, combining deep brown, copper, aubergine, amber and smoky gray tones with a lustrous surface and long vertical flowing/drip effects.

The glaze changes considerably with the light and gives the vase a rich metallic or iridescent appearance in areas.

The underside is largely unglazed and bears a small impressed number or production mark, photographed in detail. No definite manufacturer’s mark has been identified, and the maker is presently unknown.

Measurements: approximately 19” high x 9” at the widest point.

Very good estate condition overall with light crazing and typical minor surface and manufacturing variations associated with older art pottery. No major damage is apparent in the photographs. Please review all photos closely for condition.
