Inspired by Korea’s traditional Hahoe and talchum mask imagery, each face has a distinctly different expression and sculptural character. Deeply carved eyes, noses and open mouths create dramatic light and shadow across the dark reddish-brown wood.

What makes this piece especially appealing is its unexpectedly minimalist presentation. The repetition of five compact forms, restrained palette and long vertical silhouette give traditional Korean folk imagery a distinctly modern decorative presence.

Beautiful displayed in a Japandi, minimalist, organic-modern or collected contemporary interior, where the dark wood provides warmth without overwhelming the space.
