Add a touch of imperial elegance to your home with this stunning vintage Chinese six-drawer chest (Ti Gui). This piece is a beautiful example of traditional Chinese craftsmanship, combining functionality with intricate artistry.
Key Features:
Material & Craftsmanship: Crafted from wood with a rich, warm "Huanghuali" (Yellow Rosewood) tone and grain. The wood features a beautiful patina that only comes with age.
Mother-of-Pearl Inlay (Luo Dian): The most striking feature is the exquisite mother-of-pearl inlay on each drawer face. The iridescent shell is shaped into delicate floral and peach motifs, symbolizing longevity and good fortune in Chinese culture.
Hardware: Each of the six drawers is fitted with traditional dark metal (brass/bronze-tone) ring pulls and backplates, which contrast beautifully with the wood and shell.
Design: The chest is framed by a carved geometric lattice border. It is topped with a gracefully curved, carved carrying handle (yoke-shaped), making it both a portable storage solution and a display piece.
