This exquisite vintage tea tray is crafted from Zitan wood, prized in traditional Chinese furniture making for its density and deep, rich color. The rectangular tray features a raised, bamboo-carved border and is adorned with a central kingfisher bird motif in vibrant enamel colors, perched on a blossoming branch.
Scattered across the surface are green gemstone inlays, adding a subtle sparkle and decorative flourish. The composition evokes classic Chinoiserie and “喜上眉梢” (magpie on plum) auspicious imagery, rendered here with a kingfisher and floral elements.
