Striking abstract stone sculpture by artist Alain Prévost, dating to 1982. This sculptural work features a fluid, biomorphic form with dramatic negative spaces and beautifully carved sweeping contours.
The stone displays subtle variations of gray, charcoal, cream and muted green. The sculpture is mounted on a dark cylindrical stone base, creating a strong contrast while allowing the carved form to remain the focal point.
The underside bears the artist signature and period inscription. This piece dates from Prévost’s active period of sculptural work during the 1970s and 1980s.
A wonderful example of late-20th-century modernist sculpture, equally appropriate for a sophisticated contemporary, Mid-Century Modern, organic modern or eclectic interior. Particularly beautiful displayed on a console, pedestal, bookshelf or cocktail table.
