Harris 1993" and inscribed "Good Goddess" 1/1 by the artist’s hand along the bottom margin.Executed in 1993—a seminal year in the artist's career when he was heavily immersed in researching African spiritual iconographies for the Smithsonian Institution—this piece boasts the signature warm-toned, texturally rich visual language that defined his involvement with the landmark Black Arts movement collective, AfriCOBRA.
