The paper backing behind the work includes fragments of a German-language printed page in Fraktur type, suggesting a Continental European origin, likely early 20th century.
A wonderful small-scale piece for a gallery wall, a study, or anywhere an equestrian or hunt theme would feel at home. The muted sepia palette works beautifully against both pale and deep wall colors.
