Each chair features a dramatic scrolled top rail and finely basket-woven rattan/reed wrapping the back and open arms, giving them the relaxed, tailored look of British Colonial and plantation-style seating. A herringbone-wrapped reed edge finishes the top rail and frame edges. The frames stand on ring-turned, reeded and tapered front legs with ebonized banding, adding a refined, tailored contrast to the warm rattan tones.

The seat cushions are attached (not loose) and upholstered in a neutral, textured gold/tan chenille-style fabric with decorative nailhead-trimmed tape detailing along the seat rail, filled with a feather-and-down blend over foam for a supportive yet plush sit. The manufacturer's original fabric content and construction tag is intact underneath one chair's seat, confirming authenticity: manufactured by Marge Carson, Inc., 9056 Garvey Avenue, Rosemead, California.
